Terms for the plain-language explanation feature

Last updated 31 July 2026

What the feature does

When you tap “Explain this in plain language” on a finding, the app restates that finding in two or three sentences. It is a rewording of numbers your phone has already calculated. It adds no new analysis.

What data it sends

Only the derived numbers for the finding you tapped: the variable label, the effect size, the sample size and the counter-example count. Your entries, notes and photographs are not sent, and no identifier is attached to the request.

label · effect size · sample size · counter-examples

Availability

The feature depends on an external service and is not guaranteed to be available. It may be changed or discontinued. The rest of the app, including the findings themselves, does not depend on it.

No medical advice

The sentence you receive is not medical advice and must not be used as a basis for decisions about medication, products or care. Those decisions belong with a qualified clinician.
